Kunming-Bangkok International Road Transport is the Golden Line that Promotes China - ASEAN International Cooperation and Economic Development in GMS

  Kunming - Bangkok international road transport starts from Kunming city, Yunnan province, via Laos to Thailand' s capital Bangkok. It has a length of more than 1800 kilometers, of which 700 kilometers in China, 247 kilometers in Laos and 890 kilometers in Thailand. Kunming-Bangkok international road transport consists of six sections in China. They are respectively from Kunming to Yuxi, Yuxi to Yuan Jiang, Yuan Jiang to Mo Hei, Mo Hei to Simao Highway, Simao to Xiaomeng Yanggao, Xiaomeng Yanggao to Mo Han. These sections are all highways except the section from Mo Hei to Simao, which is a B-level road. These five sections of highways were respectively built in the years of 1999, 2000, 2003, 2006, and 2008. The section from Mo Hei to Simao is now under construction and the highway is expected to complete by the end of this year. Passing through Kunming, Yuxi, Pu'er, Xishuangbanna these four cities and prefectures and other 12 counties, the highway from Kunming to Mohan has a wide area of radiation. It effectively influences about 2 / 3 of the total area of Yunnan Province.
