Kunming Pan-Asia Financial Central Park begins construction

Construction of Kunming Pan Asia Financial Central Park which located at Haigeng Road has started, April 29, 2011. Construction of Kunming Pan Asia Financial Central Park which located at Haigeng (海埂) Road has started, April 29, 2011, marking a new milestone for the city’s finance development history. The park is expected to be a service center for cross-border RMB trade settlement in the Pan-Asian region, and a new platform is ready for speeding up the development of finance in Yunnan.

Bai Enpei (白恩培), Party Secretary of Yunnan, Qiu He(仇和), Secretary of Kunming Municipal Committee of the CPC, Zhang Zulin(张祖林), the mayor of Kunming City and other officials jointly started the crystal ball on the launching ceremony.

The park is built to gather the financial institutions that run business in Kunming. It covers an area of about 1,600 mu and a financial industry agglomeration development center is going to formed in 2 years with financial institutions headquarters offices, receptionist operations and intermediary services. The new urban business center will be formed together with the secondary business districts in South Kunming, such as the outdated Luosiwan Trade City, the First City of South Asia, etc.

Organized by People's Government of Yunnan Province, co-hosted by Kunming Municipal People's Government, Yunnan Provincial Department of Culture and Yunnan Provincial Association for Cultural Exchange, the Summit Meeting on Construction of Thoroughfares for Pan-Asian cultural Cooperation has been held at Kunming, July 26 2010. As an important part of the Dianchi Pan-Asian Cultural & Arts Festival 2010 that has kicked off in Kunming on July 25, the meeting aims at building a bridge for cultural and media exchange in the Pan-Asian region, and promoting multicultural exchange and cooperation in the area.
