Myanmar introduces one more border trade point with Thailand

YANGON, May 15 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar has opened one more border trade point in Taninthayi Region's Dawei district in a bid to promote bilateral trade with Thailand, according to an official report Wednesday.
The Htikhi is one of the four border trade points with Thailand set up in Taninthayi region.
There are altogether six border trade points along Myanmar-Thai border now.
Besides Thailand, Myanmar also has four border trade points with neighboring China, two with India and two with Bangladesh.
According to official statistics, bilateral trade between Myanmar and Thailand stood 4.576 billion U.S. dollars in 2012.
Of the total, Myanmar's export to Thailand amounted to 3.861 billion dollars while its import from Thailand represented 715.61 million dollars.
