Kunming’s GDP up by 13.1% in 1st quarter of 2011

The RMB53.43 billion in Kunming’s GDP in the first quarter of 2011 was increased by 13.1%, which was 3.4% higher than the average for China. Local general budget revenue totaled RMB 6.83 billion, an increase of 18.2% over the same period last year.

Kunming has witnessed an economic development both in speed and efficiency. Throughout the first quarter, primary industry is estimated to achieve a growth of RMB27.2 million, up 4.8% year on year; second industry has estimatedly increased a value of RMB23.926 billion, up 15.6%; tertiary industry is estimated to achieve an added value of RMB27.441 billion, an increase of 11.8%.

According to Mayor of Kunming Zhang Zulin(张祖林), the improvements in the economic indicators in the first quarter has laid foundations for the annual economic targets.
