Yunnan’s 1st int’l shipping thoroughfare established

After 4-year striving, the international shipping thoroughfare connecting Simao Port and Guanlei Dock, which promotes the economic cooperation among China, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the Meikong sub region, has received a title “provincial level civilized shipping passage”.

The Langcangjiang-Meikong international shipping thoroughfare has become an important window opening to the outside world of China. Nearly 100 Chinese ships are occupied in international shipping affairs and yearly cargo volume has reached more than 400,000 tons. Not only goods in small size, but also containers and huge cargoes are shipped there. Scheduled tourism flights have already been opened and yearly passengers have reached nearly 10,000.

The international shipping thoroughfare connecting Simao Port and Guanlei Dock will strive for receiving “national level civilized shipping passage”, to promote the development of Yunnan’s economy. (Editor:Tina He)
