Kunming's tourism revenue hit RMB28.481 bln last year

Kunming's tourism revenue has hit ¥28.481 billon in 2010, up 25.83 percent year on year, on the back of booming domestic travel. While officials will strive to achieve higher tourism growth, the numbers of overseas and domestic visitors are expected to increase 10.28 and 11.1 percent respectively.

Tourism Bureau of Kunming announced that the total number of tourists has hit 35.5735 million, showing an increase of 14.2 percent over the same period last year.The numbers of overseas and domestic visitors are 860.6 thousand and 34.7129 million. Showing increases of 10.58% and 14.29% respectively.

Chinese booming tourism market has been a stimulator to the airline businesses across the pacific.To push forward tourism cooperation between Yunnan and overseas countries, domestic tourist market will be closely integrated with flight routes. The Kunming government encourages airlines of both sides to establish and increase their cooperative ties. More new international direct flights are expected to be opened in the near future.

Based in the former tourism market, including Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, South Korea and etc, the European and American tourism market will see explosive growth in the next couple years.
