Rose markets boomed before Valentine's Day in Kunming

The roses have been sold well in the Dounan Flower Market of Kunming before the Valentine's Day. About 20,000 people took part in flowers trade in the market everyday. The market provides 70 percent of China's flowers annually, according to Yunnan Flower Association (YFA).

The rose prices have increased by 45% over the same period of last year, while flower growers and buyers are still busy for their business. Besides, the prices of fresh-cut flowers have created a record since 2005.

Mr. Li, a rose grower said, 2/3 of all his flowers had been sold just in 6 days, from February 5th to February 10th.About ¥70,000 was gained. He was planned to sell the rests at good prices before the Valentine's Day.

Just at 1:08am February 14th, buyers have come to the flower market. All of them are busy packing boxes of roses. Mrs. Yang said, "I have bought at least 300 boxes and 1,000 roses for each box."

According to the Kunming International Flower Auction Trading Center, 5 million flowers are sold everyday, which include 3.8 million roses.
