Tertiary industry earnings achieved 100 bln break in 2010 in Kunming

The tertiary industry has earned ¥103.921 billion in 2010 to achieve the 1st 100-billion-yuan break, showing a year-on-year increase of 12.6%, said the Kunming Municipal Bureaul of Statistics.

Kunming has achieved a gross domestic product (GDP) of ¥212.037 billion in 2010. The primary and secondary indus.try have respectively contributed ¥12.03 billion and ¥96.086 billion, showing year-on-year increases of 4.8% and 16.7%.

Moreover, Kunming’s income of the tourism industry has reached ¥28.481 billion in 2010, increasing by 25.8% over 2009. Travelers to Kunming have reached ¥35.5737 million, increasing by 14.2% over 2009, among which includes 860.6 thousand oversea persons.

In China, the economy value of the primary sector covers agriculture, forestry, livestock industry; the secondary sector covers manufacturing, coal mining, water, power and gas supplying and building industry; the economy value of the tertiary sector, also known as the service sector, covers transportation and communication.
