Kunming named "top 60 China's cities with most overseas influence"

Kunming has been named as one of the top 60 China's cities with most overseas influence in 2010 recently. The award ceremony was held in Hong Kong.

Kunming was chosen for its comprehensive influences, the jury said.

With a history of more than 2400 years, Kunming is a famous historical and cultural city.

It is a major tourism and commercial city and a major transportation hub in southwestern China. Because of its year-round temperate climate, Kunming is known as the City of Eternal Spring and Capital of Flowers.

Kunming has won lots of awards in recent years, such as: “top ten happiest Chinese cities to live in”, “China's second summer tourist resort city”, "the best commercial list in Chinese mainland", “China’s top 10 cities of harmonious and sustainable development” , “2009 best Chinese city for Zhejiang investors” and “city with the most soft power” and so on.

Over 300 people including officials from 60 cities in China, consul generals of foreign countries and celebrities in Hong Kong have attended the award ceremony.
