China's central bank has just released the latest financial data for 2010. They show that total loans last year more or less reached the government's 7 and a half trillion yuan yearly target. Banks extended loans of 7.95 trillion yuan in 2010, a decline from the figure a year earlier, but slightly higher than the full year's lending target.

Figures also show annual growth in China's broad M2 measure of money supply slowed to 19.7 percent in 2010, from 27.7 percent a year earlier. Foreign exchange reserves also increased nearly 19 percent year on year, to reach 2.8 trillion U.S. dollars.
