Kunming honored the 2010 China's Happiest City

An award ceremony of 2010 China’s Happiest City has been launched in Hubei of Changsha Province recently. Kunming and other nine cities were honored this year.

Starting in October, the committee has been investigating 60 candidate cities by means of household inquiry and public inquiry, as well as document inquiry. The survey is conducted on the basis of subjective and objective factors, involving city milk of human kindness, traffic conditions, medicare, education levels of residents, housing prices and office hours etc.

In addition, more indexes will be added for looking into candidates, covering population, history, private cars, crime rate, weather, per capita green area, per capita income and price index etc.

The 10 happiest cities this year: Kunming, Hangzhou, Chengdu, Chongqing, Changsha, Nanjing, Changchun, Guangzhou, Tonghua and Wuxi.

The survey is conducted by Oriental Outlook magazine under the administration of the Xinhua News Agency and China Association of Mayors. It is the 3rd anniversary of the election.
