Kunming’s GDP up 14.3% in 1st 3 quarters of 2010

The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in Kunming expanded at a rate of 14.30 percent over the first three quarters of this year, 4.1 percentage points higher than the same period last year.

The added values of the first, second and tertiary industries have been up to RMB 6.5 billion yuan, 67.1 billion yuan and 68.3 billion yuan, increasing of 3%, 17.3% and 12.3% respectively, according to statistics released by the city’s Development and Reform Commission.

Agricultural production shows small increase. The output value of farming, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery totaled RMB 1.116 million yuan, up 3.6 percent over last year.

The above-scale industrial added value reached RMB 4.4718 million yuan, showing an increase of 16.7 percent, which is 13.2 percentage points higher than the same period last year.

As the main parts of tertiary industry, trade, tourism and finance show steady development. The wholesale, retail, accommodation and catering industries increased 18.6 percent, 20.4 percent, 14.8 percent and 16.2 percent respectively.

In addition, consumption, imports, exports and investment in Kunming also maintained a good momentum of development during the first three quarters. The urban fixed asset investments totaled RMB 12.05 million yuan, an increase of 36.5%. Among them, the investments in the second and tertiary industries amounted to RMB 25.328 billion yuan and 94.463 billion yuan, an increase of 42.1% and 35.2% respectively.

In this year, a series of conferences was held in Kunming to attract investment, such as Dianchi Pan-Asia Equity Summit, ASEAN Chinese Traders Convention and so on, which have attracted a lot of domestic and foreign enterprises invested into Kunming.

The industrial investment totaled RMB 2.5212 million yuan, an increase of 43.4%. Especially, the growth rate exceeds that of urban fixed asset investments by 6.9 percentage points.

The average disposable income of urban residents was RMB 14,109 yuan per capita, with real growth reaching 10.1 percent. The average net income of farmers was RMB 6322 yuan per capita, an increase of 12.5%.
