6th Walking into ASEAN Forum kicked off in Kunming

The 6th Walking into ASEAN Forum has kicked off in Kunming yesterday (October 26). More than 340 Chinese and foreign guests have participated in the discussions that strengthen cooperation and development to ASEAN Countries.

Secretary of CPC Yunnan Provincial Committee and director of the Standing Committee of Yunnan Provincial People's Congress Bai Enpei(白恩培), deputy secretary of CPC Yunnan Provincial Committee and governor of Yunnan Province Qin Guangrong(秦光荣) sent a congratulatory letter to wish a great success for the forum.

President of China-ASEAN Association Gu Xiulian (顾秀莲), president of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries Chen Haosu (陈昊苏), member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Yunnan Provincial Committee and Secretary of the CPC Kunming Municipal Committee Qiu He(仇和), and other officials have attended the opening ceremony.

The topic for the discussions is “situations and countermeasures for economic and trade cooperation in the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area”.

The discussions are expected to further improve Yunnan's opening up to Southeast Asia and accelerate the construction of Yunnan into a “bridgehead” of China opening up towards Southwest areas.
